Xiaomi Walkie Talkie 2S launches with 120

The Xiaomi Walkie Talkie 2S has been launched in China. The device has a 1.77-in color LCD screen with a 128 x 160 px resolution. With 4 W transmit power, Xiaomi suggests that the gadget has a 10,000 m² (~107,639 ft²) communication range in a mall setting or up to 5 km (~3.1 miles) in an urban area.

Using built-in buttons, you can control the Xiaomi Walkie Talkie 2S and connect to other walkie-talkies or mobile devices. There are 100 channels to choose from in the 430.000 MHz to 440.0000 MHz band, or you can listen to radio stations with frequencies from 87 to 108 MHz. The gadget has integrated 36 mm speakers for a clear sound, or you can connect headphones via Bluetooth or the 3.5 mm audio jack. Plus, you can use the Xiaomi app to share your walkie-talkie's location and push OTA updates to the device.

Thanks to a 2,190 mAh 8.3 Wh battery, the gadget can last up to 120 hours on standby or for 15 hours with continuous use; you can recharge the device via USB-C. Available in Space Gray, the gadget is light and compact, with the body weighing 130 g (~4.6 oz) and measuring 15 x 55 x 120 mm (~0.6 x 2.2 x 4.7-in). You can buy the Xiaomi Walkie Talkie 2S in China for 299 yuan (~US$44). It is unclear whether or when the gadget could launch in other markets.
